Support Our Schools

We are eager for you to attend our next SOS meeting! Two members from the School Committee will be presenting a comprehensive overview of the school budget process and will be available to answer your questions and concerns. Our State Representative, Brad Hill, will be at the meeting to share some of his proposals at the state level to address our funding needs. These two presentations will be the focus of the meeting, and we hope there will be strong attendance from the entire community. What an opportunity to voice your opinion, ask questions, and share ideas and concerns!

Our next meeting is November 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Community House.

Two new pages have been added to the website: Volunteer Opportunities, and our Subcommittee List where you will see a description of the eight subcommittees that have been organized to try to address the serious budget situation facing our schools.

It is important to understand that we are pursuing a broad range of possible solutions. It does not necessarily mean that every member of the SOS committee personally endorses every idea or solution that is being presented. We are a diverse and complex group of concerned citizens united by our desire to continue the tradition of a strong public school system for Hamilton and Wenham. We welcome new volunteers to join our efforts, so feel free to contact any one of the committee chairs in the area that you are interested in lending your time or talents. Or, if you are just interested in learning more, we hope you will come to our meetings.

SOS Meetings are scheduled for November 5, December 3 (see note above), and January 7. All of the meeting are at 7:30 pm at the Community House.
